Our Story

Our story 🩵

In January 2020, we met on a dating app. Jordan asked me out for a Friday night, but I told him I didn’t want to leave my dogs at home after they’d been home all day while I was working. I thought, Hes definitely going to think Im weird and wont reply - I assumed it was over before it started. Instead, he looked up a couple places that welcomed dogs, and asked us all out on a date at Crank Arm, a brewery in Raleigh.

That Friday night, I was so tired from work that I fell asleep as soon as I got home without setting my alarm. I woke up about 10 minutes before our date was supposed to start. Jordan was really kind and patient about it, and was there waiting at a table when me and the weenie dogs finally arrived at the brewery.

We started talking about wanting a German Shephard one day, having land, and how many kids we wanted. Hank let me know how much he liked Jordan by jumping up on the table and drinking Jordans freshly poured beverage, haha!

COVID happened after our 4th date, so we had to get to know each other by simply talking to one another and finding joy out of the simple things in life. One day, I came home from work to a vase of roses for Valentine’s Day, and knew this guy was special.

We felt at ease with one another, and enjoyed each others company, which included walking the dogs, bantering, and watching Justified. Early on, we both agreed This is it. Were getting married one day.

In July 2020, we discovered we were pregnant with a baby boy, who we welcomed on December 28, 2020 after 36 hours of labor!

Jordan and I supported one another through our early career hurdles, and in August 2021, we bought our first home—a townhome on the outskirts of Northeast Raleigh. We had intended on getting married before buying a house, but the housing crisis and rapid rent increases forced us to buy a home sooner than planned. There went our wedding budget!

On September 1, 2023, Jordan surprised me with a resort vacation in Hilton Head that turned into a surprise proposal on the pier at sunset. He planned a photographer to capture the candid moment and take picture immediately after - it was very romantic!

Unfortunately, on December 16th, 2023, we were involved in a near-fatal car accident. Jordan, myself, Raylan, and Luna were all in the car, and by the Grace of God, we all survived. This one event controlled our lives throughout all of 2024 and even into 2025, which derailed wedding planning quite a bit.

Now, we are thrilled to be joined by all of you as we FINALLY get to say “I Do” to each other.
